Water quality is an important topic these days throughout Florida. From large scale fish kills in Biscayne Bay to algae blooms causing Red Tide in Central Florida, it seems like there is no getting away from it. But aside from the obvious and noticeable, dead fish floating, funky foul smell, eye's burning that comes with Red Tide, how would you know if the water you are swimming in is safe?

The Blue Water Task Force run by the Surfrider Foundation does an excellent job of testing for levels of bacteria at nearly 500 sites throughout the country.  Including but not limited to oceans, bays, estuaries, and freshwater sites. By signing up for their newsletter, you can ensure that you are update with the current levels of bacteria at your local beach. Make sure you keep you and your loved ones safe by staying informed and sign up today. Keep your beaches clean and protect what you love.
